He was born in Patiala (present day India) in 1885 and died in Lahore in 1978.
He, like his father and grand father, was employed as one of the Court Painters of Maharaja of Patiala.
After partitiion, he taught at the Mayo School of Art (currently National College of Arts, Lahore).
His works are displayed at National Art Gallery in Pakistan and other various galleries internationally.
